Holmes County to Host World’s Largest Buffet
WALNUT CREEK, OHIO—On Saturday, March 24, Holmes County, Ohio, will aim to capture the record of World’s Largest Buffet from Las Vegas. Set in 2006, Las Vegas’ record with 510 “distinguishable dishes” at the Las Vegas Hilton is projected to be broken at the Holmes County Amish Flea Market with an estimate of over 600 dishes.
The public is invited to participate in this World Record in two ways. First, recipes may be submitted for the buffet online at www.worldslargestbuffet.com. Second, the public is welcome to visit the buffet for lunch. A limit of 3,600 tickets will be sold to the buffet, and each ticket will be reserved for one of three seating times—11 a.m., 1 p.m. or 3 p.m. Tickets for the buffet cost $11, and all proceeds will benefit The Love Center, Holmes County’s food pantry.
Known for their original, home-style food as well as their buffets, Holmes County’s Amish-style restaurants are a favorite in Ohio, making this region a perfect location to set the record as the World’s Largest Buffet. Already submitted are some of the favorite Amish recipes from local cooks. Holmes County is at the center of the nation’s largest Amish community.
The World’s Largest Buffet is presented by the Holmes County Lodging Council. The dishes will be prepared by licensed kitchens throughout the county.
