So which came first, this burger, or the Boondocks cartoon I first saw it on?

The Luther Burger came first. Remember that Cartoon Network is based in Atlanta. I worked at Mulligans, the home of the Luther, way back in the day. A group of guys came in who were writers from CN and had heard about the Luther and Hamdog from Jay Leno. They tried it, and eventually it made its way into the cartoon.
