One of our readers "Angelica" sent me info about this monstrosity the other day. It's called, "The Hamdog".

A ham dog is a hotdog that is wrapped in ground beef then deep fried. They then place it on a hoagie roll, top it with chilli, grilled onions, and a fried egg.

*clutches chest* hahaha...

its sad. mulligans is closed. no more ham dogs. I had been there before but only in a drunken haze and didnt know about the ham dog. so when I read about it and went to go get one they were closed. the next big festival he should open a hamdog booth or something. I want a hamdog!!!
maybe someone should put a hamdog memorial page or better yet just post the recipe.

It's funny you should say that about the recipe... Turns out the Hamdog is trademarked!! I'm surprised they haven't franchised it yet at things like the Texas State Fair, or any other county fair for that matter! They'd sell like crazy!!!

There's a place that's "emulating" the Hamdog, hopefully more info on that soon. I'm eagerly waiting to hear back about it from the owners of the place in question!
