Police bribe rural children with junk food

I've heard about police being bribed before, but looks like the tables are turning. They're looking at a plan to bribe kids with junk food to keep them from committing crimes in remote communities.... or maybe they're fattening them up so they can't run away as fast...

POLICE will give out McDonald's and pizza vouchers to reward children for good behaviour in a town desperate to tackle a youth crime epidemic. Operation Get Smart will be launched in Dubbo to help break down barriers between officers and children.

"If we see them doing good things within the community, they will be rewarded," Detective Inspector Michael Willing said. He said that the program was one of a number of strategies to be phased in this year as an extension of an anti-truancy program which was launched last year.
