[CONTINUED]

I have my traditional "Tween" party "between" Christmas and New Year's. It's also called that because the median age is thirteen-and-a-half.

I don't know whether it was an eggnog-induced fever-dream or a hideous memory fragment, but the image of a pole dance by Lindsay Lohan so vigorous that her retainer shattered is seared into my brain! I seem to remember her performing on stage also.

Anyhoo, when I've been criminally over-served at one of my own holiday soiree, I always head for the Four Seasons to carb up on old fashioned comfort food: potatoes and shaved truffles. It takes me back to childhood vacations in Provence during lavender season. My godfather the viscount had an army of trained pigs to root out the choicest lumps of that elusive delicacy. Unfortunately the porkers' military discipline broke down when the truffle patrol was over and they subjected my nubile body to aggressive investigation! I was half ravaged by the randy porkers when my noble host rescued me. He declared the sight one of the most "heinous" he had ever seen. It was years later when I learned he thought "heinous" meant "kind of hot." To this day, the only snack that soothes my holiday wounds is a hot, thick, fungus-covered spud!
