This sounds rather small, as there is a large grill standing just north of Rutland, North Dakota, with a statement. "Home of the Worlds Largest Hamburger. 3591 Lbs. June 26th 1982. It must have been at least 18 feet diameter and I was there. A Crane was used to turn it, or flip the burger. Check out this website. http://www.roadsideamerica.com/tip/19484
Rutland, North Dakota - World's Largest Hamburger and Grill
This small town managed to get into the Guinness Book of World Records in 1982 with a 3,591 lb. hamburger fried and then flipped on a grill. One portion of the grill stands on the road into the town. It was recently repainted.

Rutland has an UffDa Day the first Sunday in October - next year will be the 25th (and maybe last from what I hear). [Debbie, 10/29/2008]

[RA: In contrast to restaurants that regularly serve up a so-called "World's Largest Hamburger," Rutland shot their wad in a one-time massive grilling, not repeated since 1982. The record has apparently not been surpassed...and the grill and sign remain.]
