Japanese kids make a 100kg Cheeseburger

[via EatFeats] Could this be the largest burger ever made? (well, by kids at least) It weighs in at a total of 220lbs, and has a diameter of 80cm (32 inches)! A few Japanese children got together (with a few adults of course), and created it for a Japanese TV show. The only one anywhere near this big that comes to mind is the Clinton Station Diner's "The 8th Wonder", but at a measly 100lbs (45kg's), it isn't even half as big as this one! Again, I really don't know much Japanese, so if any of our readers could translate the statistics for us all, it would be much appreciated!

The Big Nugget Off 2004

"Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor is without a doubt the most widely used backing song in eating challenge videos. This video is no exception. Even with the cheesy music, this eating competition has merit! The Challenge: Eat as many chicken nuggets as possible to be crowned champion. And at 65 nuggets, Anthony wins! Not quite as many as the McNugget McMaster, but a worthy effort no doubt!

The US$1.65 million Fruit Cake in Japan

Not content with just any old Fruit Cake? How about one worth US$1.65m, encrusted with 223 small diamonds? It's apparently edible too, with the diamonds taken out of course ;)

TOKYO - Could this be the ultimate Christmas treat? A diamond Christmas cake is going on display Friday in Japan. It's one of 17 diamond-related designs in an exhibit called "Diamonds: Nature's Miracle." The Tokyo pastry chef who created the work of art said it took six months to develop the design and one month to actually make the cake.

World's Largest Gingerbread House, Mall of America, MN
In an earlier post, one of the photos claimed to be "The World's Largest Gingerbread House". As Santa would say "Ho Ho Ho, I don't think so!". Turns out the World's Largest Gingerbread House has been created at the Mall of America, in Bloomington, MN. Standing at a whopping 67 feet, this massive mountain of Gingerbread has officially been crowned the World's Largest by Guinness World Records Representative Stuart Claxton. Intricately detailed with everything from lollies to licorice, it still stands today, (live cam available here!), a huge effort! This story has a video, and a bunch of pictures of the Giant Gingerbread House.... mmm...

The Finnish Sausage Monster

Sweden, known for beautiful women and flat pack furniture. But who would have thought they'd create a giant Sausage Monster Death Walker thingo... Complete with Evil Olive Death Ray Eyes!!! (ooh) Scary I know, but the position of the sauerkraut scares me more.... [Edit: I originally called this the "Swedish Sausage Monster", our readers soon showed me how bad my grasp of any language other than English was... sorry about that :P]
