I'm a member of a Toyota MR2 enthusiasts club and we occasionaly end our drives at The Wildcat Grill, which is famous in the area for the "Rowdy" burger. A fairly large burger, with an unbeatable price of $13.95 CDN. If you're ever in the area, give it a shot!

4289 foot burrito, world record!
Contributed by: Billy
Eaton sent this in a few days ago. You may remember a few posts ago, the 1997 successful world record attempt at the worlds largest burrito. But that was then, and that record has been broken! May 8th. 1999 was the date that the official "worlds largest burrito" was made! Ole!

When was the last time you enjoyed a great lunch wich made history, had music and good fun under the sun, plus gave to charity? It probably has not been anytime soon. Well, here is your chance to do just that. Casa Chapala Mexican Restaurant has come up with the idea to make the World's Largest Burrito with the help of other local businesses and sponsors, right here in our own Columbia Park. We are looking to beat the current Largest Burrito Record by 500 feet. As you can see, we need your help as this will be beneficial to local charities. Cinco de Mayo Committee, MECHA, United Way and the St. Joseph's New Church Project.

Grandpa Al and his Giant Cake, Harold's New York Deli, NJ
Contributed by: Billy
Googlemaps Location: Edison, NJ, USA
Found this one while clicking around flickr, it's Grandpa Al and his Giant Cake (sounds like a kids story book!). I have to say that this is a small engineering feat, how do they get it to stand up like that? And it's not like this is a one-off creation either. Apparently Harold's Deli specializes in giant meals!

and http://www.roadfood.com/Reviews/Overview.aspx?RefID=1344
Harold's is a large restaurant serving enormous portions of food to enormous people (and regular size people, too). It is for this reason, we believe, that Harold's sometimes doesn't get the respect it so well deserves. It would be natural to assume that a restaurant whose schtick is to serve comically large servings of food would not devote much attention to the quality of that food. That assumption, at Harold's, couldn’t be more wrong

One of our readers Eaton (who sent in the story about the 12-pound Canadian Emperor Crab) sent this one in. Circa 1997, this is the earliest Supersized Meal we have on record. The challenge? To conquer the Guinness World Record for the World's Largest Burrito.
From: http://www.sfbg.com/Extra/aln/bloat.html
I woke up Saturday morning and checked my burrito horoscope. "Today is a good day for a burrito," it said. It always says that. Funny thing is, it's always right. Today was a good day for a burrito; in fact, it was a great day for a burrito. To celebrate Cinco de Mayo, La Costeña, the famed taqueria of the South Bay, decided to make the world's largest.

The 50lb Mount Olympus Burger, Clinton Station Diner, NJ
Contributed by: Billy
Googlemaps Location: Clinton, NJ, USA
I've been trying to find these photos for a while, and found Trencherwomen had written up a story about it a while ago! Turns out local radio station NJ1015 had a competition to see whether 5 guys could knock this monster off by themselves. Although a valiant effort, they didn't quite make it...

A "Burger with the lot", Cairns, Australia
Contributed by: Billy
Found this one on flickr. A towering works burger with 3 bamboo sticks about 30cm long to hold it all together! How much for this one? Only $5.00!! There's a great story that goes along with it too
From: http://www.flickr.com/photos/71849667@N00/106241586/
...The picture above is the Burger with the Lot and very much needed the three bamboo sticks measuring about 30cm to support this towering mass of food. Stuart had to turn his head to a 90 degree angle to even begin to eat this monster and was forced to take numerous bites to get the full impact....

IFOCE competitor "Jammin'" Joe La Rue, in preparation for an upcoming contest knocks off 3 x 20oz burgers. The fully dressed burgers weight was 5 lbs and were consumed in about 40 mins. Just for fun Will Ham Knocked off 2 burgers at close to 3.5 lbs. How serious is Joe La Rue? Very. He even bought digital scales to the restaurant!
From: http://www.cheeburger.com/menu.asp
According to the site, "If you can finish this monster, we'll take a picture of you and put in on the wall with the other Cheeburger Cheeburger "Wall of Famers"". 3 photos perhaps? :)
