The 8500 Calorie Manwich

On the 29th May 2004, James decided to build a sandwich. This is his story (From http://myhighhorse.com/index2.html)

I'd been studying at Warwick University in the UK, and I had just finished my Computer Science finals (I'm now doing a PhD in Edinburgh). I went out and got drunk, had a nice lie in and bought a couple of new games in town, but I just didn't feel totally liberated.

So I decided to build an enormous f*****g sandwich. Inside this affront to God would be an enchilada, some garlic mushrooms, burgers, sausages, assloads of cheese and some good old HP sauce. I put in a bit of salad as well to even out the bad stuff.

Eating Out
The Park Road Challenge - 1kg Rump Steak
The time had come. It was time to meet my destiny. The 1kg steak challenge at 16th on Park, Park Road, Milton. It was surprisingly easy

8kg of rump steak had been pre-ordered for this event, that's 8 x Park Road Challenges. 12 people showed up, so 4 of the guys had "normal" meals.

7pm, we arrive and sit down outside at 16th on Park. Not a bad restaurant this one. It had been recently renovated, and had its name changed from “The Hairy Lemon". I was surprised how quiet it was considering it was a Friday night at the start of Summer. Perfect weather, great time to get a few mates together for a big feed.

The Megaburger

Originally inspired by Denny's Beer Barrel Pub's 6 pound burger, back in July of 2004 we decided to try a mega burger of our own!

These puppies weighed in at about 5kg's each...

Between the two, these two big boys had 4 Tomatos, 3.5 Onions, 1 Whole Lettuce, Butter, 4.586 Kg Mince, 4 Eggs, 20 slices of Cheese, 2 Kg Bread Mix, 1.2 Kg Water (for bread), Sesame Seeds, 1 bottle MasterFoods Hamburger Spice, 250g breadcrumbs, about 200g American Mustard, about 250g Heinz Tomato Ketchup, about ~200g Praise Mayonaise, and 500g Gherkins. Now that's a burger!

Welcome to SupersizedMeals.com!

Hi, and welcome to SupersizedMeals.com! Your home for supersized food from around the world.

Be it home made Mega Burgers, Huge Homemade Sandwiches, or restaurant favorites like Denny's Beer Barrel Pub, Home of the World's Biggest Burger, we're where it's at!

I'm a big fan of big food, like a BIG fan. Give me a restaurant with a supersized meal “challenge”, and I’m all in. Ask me to make the biggest burger you’ve seen, and I’m in the kitchen trying to figure out how to cook a 4kg beef patty. I love food, that’s pretty much what it boils down to! I was doing a restaurant review site for a couple of years, but there’s a million of those now, so I thought I’d try something different, something I could really sink my teeth into, so here I am!

So I’ve made a few supersized meals myself, and I’ll put them on the site soon, but if you know of any restaurants offering massive meals, or have had a crack at making a huge sandwich, let me know! Either sign up and put it on the site yourself, or send an email to and I’ll put it on the site!

Eat big!
