Skinnyboy does the A&W Quad Bacon Double Cheeseburger
Contributed by: Billy
Skinnyboy is at it again! He's hitting his local fast food establishments and ordering the fattest thing on the menu. For today's meal, he's trying the A&W Quad Bacon Double Cheeseburger, self made of course! Serving weight - 600g, Total Calories - 1600, Total grams of fat - 97g! Surely a piece of cake compared to his Two Pounder effort!

A & W's Original Deluxe Bacon Double Cheeseburgers. It's kind of interesting that two people each constructed one and the first dude went patty-cheese-patty-cheese, bacon and then toppings while the other dude broke out toppings then cheese-patty-cheese-patty and finally bacon. I had them leave off the (..shudder..) mayo. I was going to also leave off the cheese but sampling from the menu means cheese on the cheeseburger.

German Science Show creates 329kg (725lb) Burger
Contributed by: Billy
Big thanks to one of our German readers Christoph for sending this one in! It's the story of a German Science TV Show called Galileo, and their attempt at making a Mega-Burger. Not your run-of-the-mill MegaBurger though, no no, the Germans do things BIG, REAL BIG. So big in fact that they engineered a structure to hold the Burger Patty just inches from the heat source for cooking, and then used this structure to flip the burger perfectly. An amazing engineering feat! They go through the process of research (using SupersizedMeals.com!), planning, preparation, cooking, and finally eating. My German isn't the best, so I really don't know much about what they're saying, only that the bun is 170cm wide and weighs 140kg's, the patty is also 170cm wide and weighs 243kg's, with fixin's, the total burger weight cooked was 329kg's!

World's Most Expensive Dessert, $25,000, NY
Contributed by: Billy
If you want the World's Most Expensive Dessert, now you'll have to shell out US$25,000 at Serendipity 3 in New York! Some would argue that Serendipity started the "Most Expensive Dessert" trend back in June of 2006, when they came up with the $1,000 Sundae. Since then, the "The Fortress Stilt Fisherman Indulgence" was released at US$14,500, but Serendipity 3 has now taken the title back with a dessert containing a blend of 28 cocoas, including 14 of the most expensive and exotic from around the globe
From: http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20071108/od_uk_nm/oukoe_uk_dessert
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Stephen Bruce, owner of Serendipity 3, partnered with luxury jeweler Euphoria New York to create the "Frrozen Haute Chocolate," a blend of 28 cocoas, including 14 of the most expensive and exotic from around the globe. The dessert, spelled with two Rs, is infused with 5 grams (0.2 ounces) of edible 23-karat gold and served in a goblet lined with edible gold. At the base of the goblet is an 18-karat gold bracelet with 1 carat of white diamonds. The sundae is topped with whipped cream covered with more gold and a side of La Madeline au Truffle from Knipschildt Chocolatier, which sells for $2,600 a pound.
