"Oldtasty's" trip to the Chinese Pizza Hut Salad Bar

You might have seen some "salad bar hacking" in an earlier article, but back in 2004, "Oldtasty" thought he'd give salad bar construction a crack. This is his story...

These images made the rounds of the office in February of 2004 when I was working in Beijing, and were the source of much amusement among my Chinese coworkers. When one's only allowed one trip to the Pizza Hut salad bar, creative salad architecture ensues.

McDonalds to launch supersized World Cup Burger

Looks like McDonalds is making a bigger Big Mac for the World Cup! No pics yet, but will be sure to post as soon as possible...(photo here is not of actual World Cup Burger). If you're in the UK and can send me a pic, please let me know in the forums!

From: http://www.newlaunches.com/...

Fast food major McDonalds is hoping to cash in on the Football fever as it prepares to launch the World cup burger. The special burger will be available for six weeks and will be around 40 % larger than it's biggest burger the Big Mac. So after relishing it you will be left with 667 additional calories which is equivalent of 9 fun sized Snickers bars. The move has prompted outrage from health campaigners with Liberal Democrat MP Steve Webb orgainising a petition against the burger.

    The "Earth Sandwich"
Zefrank runs a video blog called "The Show". In this particular episode, he has a challenge for all "Sports Racers" (the audience) to make the world even more awesome. It could be the largest supersized meal possible! An Earth Sandwich! You've got to check it out, it's hilarious. He even has a "find the opposite tool", which lets you locate where on the opposite side of the world you'd need to place a slice of bread to make an Earth sandwich! And don't forget the song...

"As I lay this bread on the ground,
I know my job ain't done.
    It leaves the earth open-faced,
    And over-exposed to the sun....

Fuddruckers takes world's largest burger title (for now)
Another record broken! Looks like Fuddruckers has managed to take the title from Denny's Beer Barrel Pub for the worlds largest commercially available burger. Dave from Megamuch did a great write up about it here. I pretty much agree with everything he said, the cost, the size, the appeal. I'm looking forward to seeing someone try and eat it though! Have to laugh at those Guinness World Record people. After the "Worlds Largest Buffet" last month, looks like they're liking Supersized Meals! (Side note: There is a larger burger available, the Mt. Olympus Burger at the Clinton Station Diner, but until I see a picture of a customer in their restaurant eating it, I'm still rating Denny's as the real winner)

    From: http://megamunch.blogspot.com/2006/05/fuddruckers-takes-worlds-largest.html

On Thursday, the Fuddruckers in the Foxwoods casino in Connecticut unveiled a 29.6 pound burger (What, they couldn't add a few pickles and onions to push it over the 30 mark?). Guinness was on hand to verify the beast, which goes for $250 and has to be ordered 48 hours in advance. That's it above in all of its rather colorless, unappetizing glory.
