Kobayashi wins Nathan's Famous with a new world record!
Congratulations to Takeru Kobayashi, for not only winning the Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest at Coney Island, but setting a new world record! 53 and 3/4 in 12 minutes! A fantastic effort by Joey "The Jaws" Chestnut as well, for finishing 52 in the 12 minute timeframe. But the most interesting thing I've found about this event is the fact that Kobayashi has eaten more than 16,000 calories in 12 minutes! (and Chestnut's pretty close to that too). And not only that, they've consumed nearly 1,000g fat. 1kg!! 2.2lbs!!! of FAT!! I hope they've got a solid gym regime planned for the next few weeks!

More than 16,500 calories and 1,000 grams of fat will be consumed on July 4 by any competitive eater in the 2006 Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest in New York who matches the current world record, according to an analysis by CalorieLab. CalorieLab has created an FDA-format Nutrition Facts label showing the nutrient value of Takeru “The Tsunami” Kobayashi’s 2004 world record of 53.5 Nathan’s Famous hot dogs, eaten in 12 minutes.

Homemade 96er attempt

In April 2005, some friends and I inspired by Denny's Beer Barrell Pub tried to replicate their 96er. I attempted to eat the thing but failed as you can see.

Maks makes Bacon Cereal

Yes, you heard right, Bacon Cereal. Maks, notorious for his bacony creations like The Ultimate Bacon Sandwich has done it again. This time he's created something that no one else has, cooked, chopped bacon, mixed with Bleu Cheese Dressing, and topped with "Baco's" of course! Hilarious! Thanks Maks! (PS - anything with a full pack of bacon is Supersized in my books!)

From: http://www.speakeasy.org/~sjmaks/cereal

It's been well over a year since my Ultimate Bacon Sandwich waged assault on my arteries and I was past due for another bacon creation. I originally intended to visit the grocery store so I could make a wedge salad, but when I saw the 2 for 1 sale on all Oscar Mayer bacon products, I knew it was a sign from the bacon gods. The best parts of a wedge salad are the bacon bits and blue cheese dressing, so why not trim the fat? Pun fully intended. Warm up your skillet and read on.

How to Make Fried Oreo Cookies!

I know what you're thinking... "Those Oreo's just aren't fat enough". Fear not! SupersizedMeals.com to the rescue! "Fairy" gives his step-by-step guide to Oreo fatness!

From: http://fairy.mahdzan.com/story/189.asp

We Southeast Asians love gorengan, or fritters, especially come tea time in the evening. We've all had deep-fried versions of local fruits such pisang (banana), ubi keledek (sweet potato), and cempedak (jackfruit), all typically covered in a semi-salty coating of rice flour batter. Sinking your teeth into a hot and greasy sweet pisang goreng is just heavenly and sipping a cup of hot tea to wash it down brings the world (and your heart) to a standstill. But has anyone ever tried Fried Oreo Cookies?!

The 1000 calorie "Stonner" Kebab, Glasgow
It's apparently so dangerous, it carries a health warning. The 1000 calorie "Stonner" Kebab is a pork sausage wrapped in doner kebab meat and deep fried... Dunno, this doesn't look like a usual Kebab to me...

From: http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2-2004410504,00.html

IT’S a gut-busting 1,000 calories and so fatty it carries a health warning — but a Scottish chip shop is still selling 100 of these deep-fried “Stonner Kebabs” a week.
