Contributed by: Billy
Elite athletes who train daily to be the best they can be on the field.... decide to have a taco eating contest... hahah... 107.7 The Bone recently staged a pre-game taco eating contest. Hope the game wasn't too hard... otherwise, uh oh, Taco! (although I think it was mostly coaches..)

The 50 taco challenge? Not yet...
Contributed by: Billy
I've been watching this guys site for quite some time now, but unfortunately not much has happened. I got all excited when I thought he was going to go through with the 50 taco challenge, but alas, still no word, and still no response to my initial comment from November last year... Maybe if enough people commented, he might take the challenge?

Two weeks ago, it was decided (I had nothing to do with this decision) that I would eat 50 tacos on the night of September 19, 2006 at the Park Chalet in San Francisco, CA. I have wasted about 2 weeks hoping there was a possibility that everyone would forget about the silly 50 tacos and my belly as well as my dignity would be spared. I hoped wrong (is that English?).

Yup, this is disgusting. You can't even see the mayo and 3 slices of cheese because of all the meat. Definitely an experience.

skateplayguitar and the Ocho Burger Challenge

It always seems like a good idea at the time, but like most Ocho Burger challenges, by the end of it, they're regretting it... hahah..

2 bk stackers with 4 meats each added into one massive 8 pattied burger
A worthy sized burger for a worthy cause! Get a team together and help raise some funds for the Children's Home of New York. If you do manage to get along to the event, we'd love to see the photos afterwards!

The Wrightsville Inn is planning a mammoth meal to raise money for the Children's Home of York. The restaurant, at 601 S. Front St. in Wrightsville, will hold a hamburger-eating contest Feb. 17, awarding top prize to the fastest hamburger-eating team. But it's not just a regular hamburger the restaurant will be serving, said Wrightsville Inn's Ruth Myers: the teams of five will have to down a 15-pound King Kong Burger. That's about three pounds of beef apiece, not including the bun, pickles, lettuce, tomatoes and cheese.

Now these are some hefty burgers! While details are a little sketchy, one could only assume the challenge involves consuming one of these massive beasts in one sitting. Free shirt perhaps? Surely a wall of fame? Either way, you'd have to be a bit of a champion to finish one of these off. There certainly have been some strange looking people giving it a go though!
[Updated 7-Feb 07]
Thanks to one of our anonymous commenters who translated the menu for us! Here are the details of the challenge:
The burger consists of 1,25kg meat and every contender gets a picture on their site. Eat it in 30minutes or less all by yourself and you pay just 10€ (normal price: 45€ or 45,5€ with bacon) and every winner gets the chance to win a ticket to Florida. Those drawings take place once a year.
A trip to Florida?!?!?! Could this be the best prize offered by any restaurant around the world for an eating challenge? It's the best I've heard!

MikeSkullman and the Wendy's Burger Challenge
Contributed by: Billy
MikeSkullman filmed his recent challenge, he and his friends were to down 4 Wendy's Burgers in one sitting. The selection was pretty broad from what I could tell, chicken burgers, 2 patty burgers.... Apparently they'd tried this challenge before and succeeded, but didn't put it on film. This is their filmed attempt...
