Not content with just any old Fruit Cake? How about one worth US$1.65m, encrusted with 223 small diamonds? It's apparently edible too, with the diamonds taken out of course ;)

TOKYO - Could this be the ultimate Christmas treat? A diamond Christmas cake is going on display Friday in Japan. World's Largest Gingerbread House, Mall of America, MN
In an earlier post, one of the photos claimed to be "The World's Largest Gingerbread House". As Santa would say "Ho Ho Ho, I don't think so!". Turns out the World's Largest Gingerbread House has been created at the Mall of America, in Bloomington, MN. Standing at a whopping 67 feet, this massive mountain of Gingerbread has officially been crowned the World's Largest by Guinness World Records Representative Stuart Claxton. Intricately detailed with everything from lollies to licorice, it still stands today, (live cam available here!), a huge effort! This story has a video, and a bunch of pictures of the Giant Gingerbread House.... mmm...

The 8-pound burger challenge, Hare, TX
Another entry into the Big Burger Wars. This one is the 8lb "Big Kahuna Burger". Just like in Pulp Fiction, this IS a tasty burger! This 8lb burger has 4lbs of Hamburger meat, half pound of cheese, a whole tomato, a whole onion, a half a head of lettuce, 30 slices of pickle and served on a sixteen inch custom made bun. The Challenge: Eat this mountain of burgery goodness in 3hrs, and you get the burger for free. No one has eaten the whole thing yet, and if you're the first, you'll get $100. Best part is that the burger only costs you $25 if you don't eat it all. Not bad!

The Night Merwin Barrientos Ate a 26x26 In-N-Out Hamburger

It seems stories of anything bigger than a 4x4 are fast becoming legend. But it looks like Merwin Barrientos made it to In 'n' Out in time for this fine sounding challenge, a 26 x 26. He chose 26 pattys and 26 slices of American Cheese because the store record was a 25 x 25. This is one eating challenge that he won't soon forget, and won't soon be forgotten...

But he won't do it again . . .
By Gustavo Arellano
Thursday, June 22, 2006 - 1:00 am - “Merwin won’t do it anymore,” my sister Alejandrina told me last week. “If he eats a 26x26 again, Merwin thinks he’ll die.” Earlier this year, 20-year-old Anaheim resident Merwin Barrientos ate a 26x26 at In-N-Out Burger: 26 hamburger patties glued together with 26 slices of American cheese. I didn’t believe Alejandrina until she produced pictures and videotape of a curly-haired man-child grimacing as he chewed on something that looked like an orange log.
