Plenty have heard of the 72oz "Big Texan", but a lesser known, much larger steak challenge exists at "AJ's Steakhouse" in Grinnell, Iowa. The Challenge: To finish their 205oz "The Big Kahuna" steak. Sound impossible? Well, so far no one has done it, but one competitor managed to finish off 150oz, just 55oz short of the whole thing! He says he could have done it, but he "had to work tomorrow".... crazy! Only one small pic, but an interesting read...

GRINNELL - What edible entity can you think of that weighs well over 12 pounds, is served with garlic bread, potatoes, and salad, and isn't available anywhere else in the world except Iowa? If you guessed "The Big Kahuna", you hit the nail on the head. AJ's Steakhouse, located off Interstate 80, exit 182 on Hwy. 146 in Grinnell, celebrated their one year anniversary Thursday evening by unveiling a monster 205-oz. sirloin steak to its customers.

The Krispy Kreme Challenge, NC State Belltower, Jan 27, 2007
Contributed by: Billy
Could this be the new future of competitive eating? The Krispy Kreme challenge isn't your every day "eat a metric crapload" type challenge, but a combination of both eating prowess and fitness. The Challenge: to run 2 miles downtown, eat 12 Krispy Kreme Donuts, then run 2 miles back to the belltower. Not only is this a challenge for pride, but a fantastic fundraising activity supporting N.C. Childrens Hospital Programs! If you're in the area, give them your support by either entering or spectating!

In 2004, NC State Sophomore Chris McCoy came up with a challenge. He would gather some friends at the NC State belltower and begin a run toward downtown Raleigh. His jog would take him two miles downhill to the Raleigh Krispy Kreme bakery. There they would each consume 1 dozen of the legendary hot glazed doughnuts. The group would then run back to the belltower to finish the race. All in less than an hour.

Giant Big Mac Costume?
Contributed by: Billy
A mighty claim indeed! One that I'm sure will be contested by our readers. But regardless, Andrew decided that it was time to see just how much internal damage he could do to himself without being admitted to hospital. With rubber gloves at the ready, Andrew was ready to take on "The Hottest Burger in the World"!!! Oh, and the challenge, finish the whole burger, and you get your name on the wall... and a sore sphincter sometime later that evening...

New World's Largest Hamburger, February 24, 2007
Contributed by: Billy
Looks like Denny is going to do it again! Those crazy guys down at Denny's Beer Barrel Pub have confirmed that they're going to attempt to make the World's Largest Commercially Available Burger on February 24. And the UEPa in Pennsylvania are recruiting competitive eaters from all over to take part in the burgers consumption! After the Clinton Station Diner beat Denny's previous record with " The 8th Wonder", Denny was quietly preparing to dominate once again. Good luck Denny! And thanks to Dave at Mega Munch for the hot tip!
If you're in the Pennsylvania area, and looking to take part in the eating of the World's Largest Burger, contact Dave at Megamunch!
