The 300 White Castle Burger Eating Challenge!
Unfortunately, I haven't had the pleasure of trying a White Castle "slider" myself, but this family wanted to try it so bad that they created an Ebay Auction to finance the trip. But rather than just take the money, they'd set themselves a challenge. The three members of the family had to eat 100 sliders each, same day, without leaving the restaurant. Globat.com decided to finance the trip, so long as they promoted their site along the way. They did, and after sitting in the same restaurant for 27 hours, they had a result...

Are you cow enough? Quad-stack Big Mac in China?

I haven't seen a Quad-Stack Big Mac before, but this looks legit. And apparently the ad translates to "Are you cow enough?". Someone else suggests it translates to “The all-new Supreme Master?”. Hahahah... If BK does the Quad Stacker, why haven't I seen one of these coming out of English-speaking McDonalds before?

AmandaHughlett and the Fuddruckers 1lb Burger

Back in May, 2006, Fuddruckers held the title for The World's Largest Burger. Alas, they didn't hold the title for long, but at least they're carrying on the tradition by offering a 1lb burger to their customers. This 1lb Burger at Fuddruckers was as big as Nate's head!

The Heart Attack Grill, Tempe, AZ
With menu items like "The Quadruple Bypass Burger", and "Flatliner Fries", this place doesn't sound too good if you're on a health kick. But hey, who cares! These massive burgers are the creation of "The Heart Attack Grill", a restaurant in Tempe, Arizona. "The Quadruple Bypass Burger" consists of four slabs of beef weighing a total of 2lbs, three cheese layers, four bacon rashers, lettuce and tomato. The record of eating one of these mammoth beasts was broken the other day by Jed Donahue, with a time of 3 Minutes and 55 seconds! The "contraversy" stirred up in part by the Nurses Union is a funny read too. Apparently they believe there might be confusion as to whether these nurses are real or not... hahah... lighten up I say! (you can read about that, here)

From: http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/2006-12/14/content_5487567.htm

Courtney Chapman, a waitress dressed as a nurse at the Heart Attack Grill, holds up a triple bypass burger Friday, Dec. 1, 2006 in Tempe, Ariz. The barely year-old Tempe, Ariz., restaurant with its slogan "taste...worth dying for!" makes the "quadruple bypass burger," estimated to be 8,000 calories, and it is served by waitresses in "nurse" outfits.

Monster Thickburger on the Food Network

[via Skinnyboy] Here's a short documentary on Hardee's/Carl Jr's "The Monster Thickburger". Some interesting stats on how the burger was created, some "health" statistics, and even a short history about Hardee's and their use of the "Char Broiled" style of burgers!

From: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a68SrzBiHhY

This gargantuan goodie is the brainchild of Hardees Restaurants, who first introduced this extreme meal in 2004..... "It's two 1/3rd pound char broiled angus beef patties, three slices of cheese, four strips of bacon, that's the top and bottom, and then we butter and grill the buns". "The Monster weighs in at 1420 calories and 107g of fat"

Megamunch's Taco Challenge

Dave Schoffner from Megamunch decided it was time to have an eating challenge with a few of his friends. The challenge? Five guys. 19 tacos each. 30 minutes. Cash Prize. The results weren't quite up to what they expected...

From: http://megamunch.blogspot.com/2006/12/insert-inspiring-taco-bell-challenge_02.html

In the end, one taco was all that separated first from third. I’ll dispense with the drama and get right down to the totals. Each of us started with 19 tacos (more on why it wasn’t 20 later) and the contest went the full 30 minutes. We’d all hoped to break the 15 taco mark, but fell just short.

Classic Commercial - Burger King Double Cheeseburger

I had a bit of a laugh when I saw this one... It's a classic Burger King commercial from what looks like the 80's. I'm only guessing, but based on the funkadelic music, and the wierd hairstyles, I'm pretty confident that's when it's from. Makes me want to throw on a pair of parachute pants and Oakley Frogskins! But what gives with them ploughing their car into the Drive-Thru sign? Don't think they'll get their meal any faster by doing that...

[UPDATE] Seems that this particular commercial was one of the first commercials to use a popular song as part of the TV campaign. Here's a excerpt from a Wikipedia entry

The use of previously-recorded popular songs in television advertisements began in earnest in 1985 when Burger King used the original recording of Aretha Franklin's song "Freeway of Love" in a television advertisement for the restaurant. This also occurred in 1987 when Nike used the original recording of The Beatles' song "Revolution" in an advertisement for athletic shoes. Since then, many classic popular songs have been used in similar fashion
